Under normal circumstances, conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, high speed, and high vibration will acceleratethe wear of 4Cr13, thereby reducing its wear resistance. The higher the hardness, the fewer defects on the surface of 4Cr13, which reduces the occurrence of stress concentration and improves its fatigue strength. The hardness of 4Cr13 is about 28-32HRC, and after quenching and nitriding heat treatment, the hardness can reach 45-50HRC. After gas soft nitriding, the surface hardness of 4Cr13 reaches 750HV, which can improve service life. 4Cr13 has a slight weakness of lower toughness compared to alloy steel. Appropriate processing and heat treatment processes should be selected based on the characteristics of 4Cr13 to ensure the uniformity of its microstructure and internal stress distribution. Fine, dense, and uniform grains with a small amount of precipitates can improve the strength and hardness of 4Cr13. Hardness is one of the most important properties of 4Cr13, usually measured by indicators such as grinding hardness (HRC) and Vickers hardness (HV). The production process is one of the important means to improve toughness, and optimized production processes should be used to ensure the toughness of 4Cr13.
Applications of 4Cr13
In industry: suitable for discharge and grinding processing, suitable for making high mirror high precision injection molds.Mold Core and Cavity, after heat treatment has high hardness and toughness, can also be used for stamping.Mold Accessories, templates, etc., for products with surface requirements such as contact products, fixtures, molds, etc.; suitable for general scenarios with high temperature rust prevention and corrosion resistance.
In civil use:4Cr13 is also used to manufacture surgical instruments, cosmetic tools, tableware, scissors, and other daily necessities, its excellent corrosion resistance and high hardness make it perform well in these fields.

Delivery Condition
Steel is delivered inannealed condition.Forging: oil quenching.Cold Work Tool Steelhas some crack sensitivity, it is not advisable to heat quickly during forging, it is best to preheat at650-750 degrees, forging heating temperature is 1130-1150 degrees,the final forging temperatureshould be greater than800-850 degrees, take the upper limit temperature during steel ingot forging. Take the lower limit temperature during billet forging.
Annealing
Generally, annealing is done at780-800 degrees, holding for 4-6 hours, cooling to 550 degrees at ≤50 degrees/hour to take out.Air Cooling,Isothermal Annealingis used.Hold at 700-800 degrees for 2-4 hours, then hold at 670-720 degrees for 2-4 hours, and cool down to 500 degrees at a cooling rate of ≤50 degrees/hour for air cooling. The annealing hardness is 241-197HB.
